About GGI
GGI Stands for God's Good Idea.
I am God’s good idea. The creator of heaven and earth decided there was a purpose for me on this earth and that it was good that I be born. Therefore, I can be confident in the life I live and the work that I do because I know that a force bigger than me is on my team and knows how to orchestrate wins. In other words, I know my big picture. I know there is a bigger picture than whatever challenge I might be going through in life and that bigger picture is a good picture, a purposeful picture. This defining identity for me comes from Ephesians 2:10: I am His Workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which he predestined since the beginning of time and Romans 8:28: all things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to his purpose.
For a long time, however, I looked to others to validate my worth. Did mommy and daddy say I did well? If so, I'm good. I have value. Did I earn an A in school and did my teacher say well done? If so, then I feel good. I feel worthy. Do others think I look good in my clothes? Do they think I'm smart? Funny? Cool. If so, then, yes, I smiled and felt good. Until I did not get those validations or when those validations were not enough. Or worse, when I was told or made to feel that I do not look good, I have not done a good job, and I'm not that smart. Then I'd loose that feeling of goodness. I would fall out of touch with my goodness.
I am so grateful for an epiphany I had about my identity. I realized that none of what I thought made me good makes me good. I do not have to prove my goodness or get anyone's stamp of approval. I am good because God made me good. He decided I should be born and He has a purpose for my life. A good purpose. Since that epiphany, I have committed to not allowing the gifts and talents God gave me to be buried in fear, guilt, shame, doubt, or a false identity. Instead, I have chosen to actively and passionately be the good idea God created me to be. Part of this choice involves sharing my stories and using my words to inspire, encourage, and edify others as they move along in their own journeys. Yes, I am God's Good Idea, and so are you. I want neither of us to ever forget it and to never resist it.
